Looking forward to one union, which recognizes and protects all categories of performers and broadcasters in all areas of our work. Status quo isn't working.  Look how dramatically residuals and pensions have suffered.  There's power in numbers, and we need to work as one.  We must be as strong a conglomerate as those who sit across the negotiating table.  I represent the voice-over performers, who've seen through technological advancements our day- to-day work go non union in staggering numbers.  We need fresh ideas, such as a union website with one a click option to turn non-union work union, that is user friendly for both performers and buyers.  We need to think like a business as the buyers do.  We cannot afford not to.

I ask for your vote and continued support in representing you on the Local and National Boards. I have been a performer in AFTRA and SAG for over 20 years. I have seen many changes in our industry. Some have not been what we wanted, but keeping our members working has been the priority.  I want to try and unite all media performers under one Union.  I ask that you allow me to keep working to make AFTRA stronger and better for all of us.

JASON GEORGE  actor
National Board

ONE UNION - it's the reason I joined AFTRA's Board over ten years ago and it looks as if it will finally become a reality.  It will eliminate confusion, eliminate waste, and maximize our bargaining power.  It's the only way we will ever consolidate the Health Plans so members will have the best chance of qualifying because they will no longer be splitting their earnings between the two plans.  However, none of this will happen on its own.  It will require experienced, reasonable voices on the board ensuring that the blueprint for this new union is the best for members to thrive in the 21st century marketplace.  I am also on SAG's National Board and my goal is help each institution better understand the culture and needs of the other so we can achieve what is best for the performer.  I'm a working actor (OFF THE MAP, GREY'S ANATOMY, BARBERSHOP) and I know my livelihood depends on a powerful union.  That's why for the last decade I've fought for the best contracts, the most diversity and, with your vote, we can finally win the fight to create ONE UNION.

LINDA HARMON  singer
LA Local Board

I’m proud to be endorsed by the Nominating Committee and ALT. I am currently serving on AFTRA National and Local Boards.  I served on TV/Theatrical and Sound Recordings contract negotiating teams and Nominating Committees. I’ve worked all the contracts and know the issues facing us.  These are challenging times for unions. It’s more important than ever to have strong, informed leadership. With the possibility of forming one union ahead, I’m looking forward to staying involved during this exciting, creative time. I would be honored to continue to serve you.

MICHEE HARRIS-HARDAWAY actor
LA Local Board

I’m a long time union activist. I started in the entertainment industry as a principle actor in Non-Broadcast/Industrial films.  For over ten years I worked in radio with Clear Communications Radio in Phoenix, Arizona as a commercial voice-over talent and writer on their commercial production team.  Arizona is a “right to work” state.  All that really means is that your rights are not protected.  It was a real challenge.  My mom, a union teacher, knew it took a union to win the rights that empower teachers professionally and economically.  For me, participating in the meaningful process of creating one union for all media professionals is the most important thing we can do for our future.  What an exciting time to vote for the AFTRA Leadership Team!

D. W. MOFFETT  actor
LA Local Board

I am on the National Boards of Both AFTRA and SAG.  I am presently working on the AFTRA series “Switched at Birth”.  I am a proud member of both unions and know our merging will allow us to stop playing into our employers’ hands.  We need one strong voice for the successful future of all performers. And I am committed to helping that happen.

DORENDA MOORE  stunt person
LA Local Board

I have been a Stunt Performer and Stunt Coordinator in AFTRA and SAG for over 16 years.  I am a strong proponent of merger in an effort to form one cohesive union that cannot be leveraged against each other.  I am a business minded individual who communicates clearly and rationally. I have the ability to listen to the needs of those whom I represent, without ego or prejudice. I make decisions based on the goals of our industry as a whole and welcome your support for the AFTRA National Board.

RON MORGAN  actor
LA Local Board

We are facing an exciting time in AFTRA as we join with SAG to create a new union.  This change will require a strong working knowledge of AFTRA and the experience to understand the needs of the “New Union.”  I have that knowledge and experience. I created as President the Ambassador Program that provides members with improved set contacts with both staff and members and the first Background Performer committee established to deal with the numerous issues facing the Background Community.  I listen to your issues and I create answers. A vote for me is a vote for solutions.

AFTRA/SAG since 1965, SAG NB.  Merger at last!

AFTRA is strong and vital with a clear vision for the future but given the “destroy unions” mentality in this country now, we need to stand together. As do many of us, I work both AFTRA and SAG contracts and in order for successful merger to occur we need to keep both Unions as strong as we can. I am committed to protecting and helping the merger process as we go forward. I want to make a difference. I believe I can. Thank you.

HOLLY PITRAGO  singer
LA Local Board

I’ve been a union performer for 11 years and a member of AFTRA for 5 years. I work as a singer, actor, stand-in and background actor across many of our contracts.  The union is its members.  No matter what our category, we all deserve a living wage and a chance at health and retirement benefits.  We aren’t hobbyists - we are professionals who tirelessly invest to provide employers with the best.  I make it a priority to attend meetings and learn about our contracts and the challenges we face.  I would be honored to serve.

CLYDE SACKS  actor
LA Local Board

Civil rights and union activism filled my home growing up, and for the past 39 years I have continued to fight for the rights of others in many unions – having joined my first union in 1972.  It is an honor to serve you on 12 AFTRA committees and on the Hollywood Board of Directors. ONE UNION for ALL can be achieved – I’ve been involved with organizing a new union, merging unions and a union name change.  WE CAN DO IT if we all stand together.  As a single parent, I raised my son within the union village which has been very good to us. I am dedicated to fighting for union strength; encouraging members to become involved; and serving our diverse membership.

DAVID WESTBERG  actor

I have been working in this business for 45 years, on both sides of the microphone and camera. And this is a business….it ain’t called show art. To consolidate must be a business decision. There is management…and there is labor. Opponents are successful, when they define and utilize the weaknesses of the other side. Our weakness is division. We must stop handing management the advantage on a silver platter. It’s quite simply a smart business move.
